Our Role in the Health Care System

Grace Hospital is an operating division of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and plays an integral role in the delivery of health care services in Winnipeg.

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is an organization of people caring for people. It is an organization of committed professionals who support each other in the delivery of health services and protect the health and promote the well being of the people within the Winnipeg health region.

The Winnipeg health region consists of residents of the City of Winnipeg as well as the Rural Municipalities of East and West St. Paul, with a total population of just over 750,000 people. The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority also provides health care support to nearly half a million rural Manitobans and the residents of Northwestern Ontario and Nunavut.

More than 28,000 people work in the Winnipeg health region, with an annual operating budget of nearly $1.8 billion. The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority also operates or funds over 200 health service facilities and programs that work within this region providing or promoting various activities that enhance the health and wellbeing of our community.
